Privacy notice
This page explains how privacy works on STAY ITALIAN.
The request form
To ask about a home you enter your full name, email and WhatsApp number. When you press «Send and see the summary», these details go straight to the host of that home by email, together with dates, guests and the estimate. The website passes them on and does not keep them: there is no archive of requests. To prevent abuse it only keeps an unreadable fingerprint of the connection, for one hour, and of the request, for half an hour.
Who handles your data
The host of the home you contact is responsible for your data. They use it to answer your request, even if you don't write afterwards, and, if you come to an agreement, to manage your stay and their legal obligations, such as registering guests with the police and the city tax. The legal basis is your request (pre-contractual steps, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Whoever runs the website only handles the technical transmission, on behalf of the hosts.
WhatsApp and email
From the summary you can write to the host on WhatsApp or from your email app: the message goes from you, under the rules of those services.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses no cookies and no analytics.
Technical data
Like any website, the server that hosts the pages records some technical data about visits for security (IP address, page requested, time) and keeps it for a limited time.
Your rights
You can ask the host to see, correct or delete your data, and you can contact the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
